About

Welcome to Prospering Farm!

Prospering Farm was founded in 1993 by Susan Horn, who continues as head trainer and barn owner. We have one of the best and convenient locations in the north DFW area, easy to access from Prosper, McKinney, Frisco, Plano, Aubrey, and Celina.

Our facilities feature four arenas, three barns with crosstie areas and tack rooms, washracks, and ample pasture turnout. These facilities allow us to have lessons year round and host multiple shows with North Texas Hunter Jumper Club, Dallas Hunter Jumper Scholarship Club, Interscholastic Equestrian Association, and barn schooling shows.

We have 35 fantastic lesson horses and ponies that teach lessons from beginner up to advanced levels. These horses teach lessons, work during summer camp, have partial leasing options, and go to shows.

Susan Horn, Owner & Head Trainer

Susan Horn is the owner and head trainer of Prospering Farm since the start. She spent her formative years riding and competing in North Texas. Susan earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Southern Methodist University then started her horse training business in California. In 1993, she moved her operation to Texas and built the barn. Susan brings 35+ years of experience as a trainer to every aspect of Prospering Farm from shows, lessons, summer camp, boarding, and more. Susan is also the head coach of Prospering Farm’s IEA team.

Stephanie Price, Assistant Trainer

Stephanie Price, assistant trainer since 2017, grew up riding at Prospering Farm from the age of 6. After riding all through high school, she attended Asbury University (Wilmore, KY) where she earned a bachelor of Equine Studies with management emphasis and then completed MBA studies. While living in Kentucky, Stephanie expanded her work and training experience at the university barn, hunter/jumper barns in the area, as well as the Kentucky Horse Park.  Since returning to Prospering Farm in 2017, Stephanie regularly oversees her students’ schedules, summer camp activities, and horse show preparation. She is also one of the barn’s IEA coaches and represents Prospering Farm on the NTHJC Board.
